>"FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grant - Cutting the Red Tape Project
The principal of this Heywire grant is to support and mentor youth in rural and regional areas to be retained in local communities and assisted in achieving their business goals.
Mentoring has been provided from Chamber to assist planning, budgeting and implementation of projects.

Samantha Long who has recently established a natural pet food business locally - "Sammi Lou's Pet Food".

Kerri Vanscherpenseel - Kerri's new business is Kerri's Kustom Cakes.
Kerri makes Cakes for Weddings, Christenings etc and flavoured Cupcakes.

President Mary Brown presented a cheque to the third recipient - Amanda Griffiths - Amanda has started a new business - Mandy's Beauty in the Bush.

Mandy's Beauty In The Bush is a home based salon located on the outskirts of Ingham located in Lannercost. The salon offers a serene environment offering views of the mountains and lush cane and horse paddocks. Amanda has 8 years experience in the Beauty Industry working in various salons and day spas in Queensland and New South Wales. Services can be enjoyed in air conditioned comfort which include facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting, make up, skincare stockist of Larissa Bright Australia skincare and gift vouchers and gift packs are available for purchase. Mandy's Beauty In the Bush offers 5 star treatments without the 5 star price tag.

Michael Beatts - Michael is starting a new business – Beattsy’s Mobile Auto Electrical.
Michael completed his apprenticeship locally. He found people were looking for someone to go to them so decided to provide a mobile service.

Chamber are thrilled to be able to support and encourage these young people to establish their new business ventures and remain in our community.









>Francis Creek Rest Area-Tourist Sign

Chamber have erected a new Tourist sign at the Francis Creek Rest Stop.
It has a list of Things to See and Do in Ingham and the Hinchinbrook Shire and a map of the area.

Hinchinbrook Economic Publication - A new era for Ingham
The Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism have launched the inaugural Publication called “Hinchinbrook Economic Snapshot - A new era for Ingham”.

This publication has been developed to provide a snapshot of the economy that comprises the Hinchinbrook Shire and to highlight the substantial provision of services available to this community. Chamber is proud to have worked with the business community and Hinchinbrook Shire Council to develop this publication. This document is designed to be used as a promotional tool for the shire to attract investment and new business ventures that will ultimately assist with the growth of our local population.

Chamber trusts the community will embrace this publication and spread the message of vast opportunity this Shire has to offer. Copies will be made available to local business owners, including real estate agents, banking institutions, developers, professional service providers, all levels of government and their agencies, regional economic development organisations, tertiary training facilities and any parties who may enquire about business investment/lifestyle options for this shire.

Sugar Industry in Hinchinbrook DVD "Sweet as Sugar"
We have been successful in gaining funding from Queensland Government – Blue Print for the Bush to produce a DVD of the Sugar Industry in the Hinchinbrook Shire.

This DVD demonstrates all the steps from getting ground ready, Planting, Fertilizing, Spraying, Harvesting, Milling, Storage, loading onto the ship and more.

This DVD is was launched on 16 May 2012. It is now available for viewing at the Tyto Wetlands Information Centre in Ingham and copies of the DVD will be available to purchase at the Centre or through the Chamber.
