Chamber makes membership more accessible for small businesses
The Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism is making membership more accessible for small businesses and sole traders with the introduction of monthly direct debit.
While the Hinchinbrook Shire is home to some truly inspiring small businesses, many of which are market-leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and hard-working heroes, chamber acknowledges that these businesses are currently underrepresented.
Chamber also recognises that small businesses make a significant contribution to the economy and community, creating employment opportunities and supporting schools, sporting clubs and local events.
Chamber’s Management Committee believes that cashflow should not prevent any business from reaping the rewards of Chamber membership and they are passionate about representing businesses of all sizes and from all industries.
Thanks to the introduction of monthly direct debit, for just $20.00/month businesses can benefit from:
- Access to resources and information relating to business development opportunities including workshops, grants, mentoring and tenders;
- Networking and collaboration at regular events including Showcase Your Business and Chamber Connect sessions;
- Advocacy and representation – as the Voice of Business in the Hinchinbrook Shire, Chamber lobbies on a range of issues that impact the local business community; and
- Promotion of the shire and its businesses through various projects and initiatives.
Chamber is also a point of contact for various Government Departments and can help business owners navigate unfamiliar situations or reach out for assistance.
Additionally, members form relationships with like-minded business owners and exchange information that opens the door to new opportunities in the spirit of “business supporting business”.
More importantly, chamber membership allows business owners who are passionate about the district to become part of the solution and contribute to projects that benefit the Hinchinbrook Shire as a whole.
To facilitate open communication and enable true representation, members can offer their ideas and provide feedback on a variety of platforms including monthly meetings or networking events, via chamber’s online suggestion box, Facebook page or Facebook group, by email or Messenger or by contacting a member of the Management Committee.
Business owners who are interested in learning more are welcome to attend Chamber’s next General Meeting at 5:30pm on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Royal Hotel, email admin@hinchinbrookchamber.com.au or phone President Rachael Coco on 0414 698 610.
