New Look Networking Calendar

The Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Tourism is launching a new-look networking calendar for 2020 to encourage collaboration and the exchange of ideas amongst like-minded business owners.

As part of the initiative, Chamber Connect events have been introduced as a social and informal platform for business owners across the shire to stay informed and make valuable connections.

Chamber Connect information sessions will include monthly coffee mornings at TYTO precinct in addition to quarterly after-hours events at various venues around the district.

Chamber’s membership selected TYTO as a neutral venue for morning events that would allow attendees to BYO coffee from their preferred establishments while providing flexibility to come and go at their leisure.

The first Chamber Connect coffee morning will take place from 7:30am to 9am on Friday, March 6, 2020 and will provide an opportunity for guests to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Successful businesswoman and passionate local, Tracey Castles, will appear as a Guest Speaker at the event to share her motivations, experiences and inspiring insights with attendees.

Moving forward, coffee mornings will be held on the first Friday of each month with hopes to grow an enthusiastic following, however Chamber’s Management Committee stressed that the events would be relaxed and accommodating without the need for RSVP’s or prohibitive costs.

The first after-hours event of the year is scheduled for April and will be hosted by the Lucinda Point Hotel Motel.

With a similar format that includes guest speakers and updates from Chamber and Council, the after-hours events will cater to business owners who reside outside of Ingham and those who are unable to attend the coffee mornings.

Chamber’s Management Committee is committed to strengthening its relationships with businesses in the Lower Herbert, beaches and beyond in 2020 and will dedicate efforts towards raising awareness of initiatives that benefit individual businesses and the broader business community.

This approach will involve more face-to-face, personalised communication with business owners to share information, address concerns and seek feedback on an ongoing basis.

Chamber Members will also continue to host Showcase Your Business events on a monthly basis to promote their products and services to the Hinchinbrook community.

Locky Hurst will showcase Halifax Homebrew & Tackle at 5:30pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 with a homebrew demonstration and nibbles provided.

Business owners are encouraged to attend monthly General Meetings, Chamber Connect sessions and Showcase Your Business events to stay informed, get connected and share Chamber’s “Business Supporting Business” philosophy.
